About the event
Standard Sessions is a focused 2-hour workshop for singers who want to get serious about jazz. You bring a standard. Guitar and bass bring the feel. For two hours you do the real work: interpretation, phrasing, choosing rep that fits your voice, counting off and leading a band, and learning to sing in collaboration with players instead of over a track.
If you came to one of my living-room sessions last year, you know the warmth. This is that, leveled up: a real room, professional musicians, and genuine coaching time on every singer. Capped at 10 so everyone gets serious time on the mic. All levels welcome, and all levels will be worked.
Led by Courtney Freed, working Portland jazz vocalist, with a professional rhythm section.
